1. How long have you been at HZ?
Coming up on 4 years in July.
2. Is there a design trend you really love (or hate)?
I love simple and clean designs, bold colors, a strong grid, and interesting hand-done touches. I'm also a sucker for ambient video, animations, and gifs. They just help brands bring their content to life.
3. What other designers inspire you?
I love finding inspiration in my normal daily activities—scrolling through my Instagram feed, Pinterest, and sites like designspiration.net. I've been following some awesome Instagram accounts such as @kellianderson, @stefansagmeister, @rdbosse, and @rileycran. I'm also inspired by the incredibly talented designers that I get to work with every day at HZ.
4. What would your absolute dream client be?
My dream client would be one who allowed me to (and had the budget to!) use every beautiful printing technique possible on the most luxurious paper stocks. Aside from that, I think it would be really fun to tempt my sweet tooth and brand a bakery!
5. Tell us a bit about your design—what influenced some of your decisions?
I decided to take my bakery concept and combine it with another one of my loves: crafting. The name, Collage, speaks directly to the idea—a combination or collection of various things. The bakery becomes a casual coworking or hangout space for customers to bring their own crafting project (or purchase a craft kit at Collage) and be inspired by others while enjoying delicious and creative treats. The branding has an eclectic vibe with fun, collage-style illustrations and bold, bright colors.
