The importance of making social strategy a reality

Social StrategyEmarketer put together a great post that sums up how executives are prioritizing social media strategy for their business.  What is interesting is that while 78% of executives think that social media strategy is important to the future success of their business, only 27% are actually listing social business as a top priority for their business. Even more interesting is that only 17% felt their company’s social strategy is ahead of the curve.

Social media and social networking are continuing to grow.  Of course, Facebook, the giant in the social arena, has gotten the attention of most companies using social media (and even those that don’t), but new social networks such as Google+, Instagram, and Pintrest are popping up so quickly, it can be hard to keep up.  This is why companies must make social media strategy a priority and dedicate budgets and resources to stay ahead of the curve.

Consumers are changing the way they shop for products and services and they are more than willing to become advocates for a company or brand.  Companies cannot afford to wait any longer to get on board with a social media strategy– and make it a priority.
